Did You Know?

• More than 300 million printer cartridges end up in our landfills on a yearly basis. That translates into more than $450 million being thrown away.
  
  
• Approximately 90% of printer cartridges are recyclable but only 20% are being recycled. Excess ink and toner can filter into our water supply.
  
  
• Americans have about 500 million obsolete, broken or otherwise unused cell phones, and about 130 million more are added each year – the equivalent of 65,000 tons of waste, according to the EPA.
  
  
• It is estimated that cell phones are discarded after 18 months of use. Cell phones contain many toxic substances that pose a major threat to public and environment health.
