Your need for an easy, free and comprehensive fundraiser is of utmost importance to us. Follow these steps to hold an easy and successful Planet Green Recycling Fundraiser.

Step1. If you are new, start with our Free Welcome Kit

Our Welcome Kit includes your very first collection box and some promotional materials. Click on the button on the right to order your Free Welcome Kit today!

 
Step2. Set a goal and get the word out

Setting a goal helps those involved focus on an end result. Your goal can be monthly, quarterly and even annual. Go to Free Useful Resources page to download posters, flyers and templates you can use in your newsletters and requests for support. Don’t be afraid to notify businesses and other community members. Everyone has printer cartridges and cell phones!

Tips for getting the word out 

  • Get participants (or parents of school children) to set up collection boxes at work.
  • Insert a press release or article into your local paper (these are usually free) and/or school newspaper and/or newsletter.
  • Place posters in public/high-traffic areas or at participating businesses/collection sites.
  • Hold a contest between different classrooms, participants or employees. Ask a local video store or restaurant to offer a coupon as a prize.
  • Enlist a publicity team.

 
Step 3. Collect

Start collecting used cell phones and empty ink jet cartridges. You need to collect at least 20 before sending them in, but we encourage you to try to fill your box – while paying attention to our shipping instructions of course.

 
Step 4. Use a return shipping label (we pay for shipping!)

We included a return label with your collection box. Stick it on your box and it’s ready to go! If you cannot find a return label or are not using our collection box you can go to the Free Useful Resources page to download and print a shipping label and to check out our shipping instructions.

 
Step 5. Send us your recyclables

After viewing our shipping instructions, print a packing slip (located at the bottom of each price list), and send us your box(es). If you are using a Postal Service return label, take your box to the nearest postal office. If you are using a FedEx Ground Shipping label, take your box to the nearest FedEx drop-off location. We pay for shipping!

 
Step 6. Deposit the check

We will mail your check within 7 days of receiving your shipment. Our comprehensive credit report is mailed with every check to show you the price paid for each qualifying item.

 
Step 7. Plan your next fundraiser

Keep coming back to our site and ordering more collection boxes and other supplies from the “Order Supplies for Free” page. There are hundreds of millions of empty cartridges and used cell phones that are being thrown away every year. Your efforts not only keep them from going into landfills, but they raise money for you!
