To ensure success with your recycling fundraiser, there are three essential elements. First, your school should select an individual to serve as the recycling coordinator. This person will oversee the program at the school level and be the main contact for Planet Green staff. Secondly, have a list of financial goals for your recycling fundraiser. When you implement financial goals then your group will have a destination in mind and participation will be more enthusiastic. This will also allow the recycling coordinator, staff, and students to track the financial progress of your fundraiser. Finally, get your students involved! The more excited your students are about participating, the wider your fundraiser will reach.

Collecting empty printer cartridges and used cell phones is free, easy and everyone at your school can participate. Students can bring their printer cartridges and cell phones from home. And don’t forget to encourage your students to have their parents, friends, and family members to collect empty printer cartridges and used cell phones for your school.

To expand participation, you may want to include collections from school supporters and local businesses. Have a business sponsor your school by donating the proceeds of their collections directly to you. Based on your fundraiser goals, your school can target certain businesses that would be sympathetic to your cause.
