Learning Center - How Does the Planet Green Recycle Fundraising Program Work?

The Planet Green Recycle Fundraising Program helps schools, nonprofit organizations, churches, community groups, sports teams, clubs, and other organizations raise funds through printer cartridge recycling and qualifying purchases made through Planet Green Recycle. The program is designed to provide organizations with an ongoing fundraising opportunity that combines environmental responsibility with financial support.

Organizations participating in the program receive a unique Program ID that identifies their fundraiser within the Planet Green Recycle system. Supporters use this Program ID when recycling eligible printer cartridges or making qualifying purchases through Planet Green Recycle.

The fundraising process begins when an organization enrolls in the program and receives its Program ID. Once enrolled, the organization is encouraged to share its Program ID with supporters, families, members, employees, customers, donors, and the broader community. The more people who participate using the Program ID, the greater the fundraising potential.

One component of the program involves cartridge recycling. Supporters collect eligible empty ink and toner cartridges and submit them through Planet Green Recycle's recycling program using the organization's assigned Program ID. Qualifying cartridges generate fundraising revenue that is credited to the participating organization.

The program also allows supporters to help organizations through their printer supply purchases. When supporters purchase qualifying OEM surplus or remanufactured ink and toner cartridges from Planet Green Recycle using the organization's Program ID, a portion of the purchase is credited to the fundraiser. This creates an additional fundraising opportunity beyond cartridge collection alone.

Unlike many traditional fundraising programs that depend on seasonal campaigns, product sales, event schedules, or limited fundraising periods, the Planet Green Recycle Fundraising Program can operate throughout the year.
